Job summary

Vancrest of Urbana, Inc. is seeking a Dietary Cook for our Ohio facility. The role is full-time with day and evening shifts and includes every other weekend and holiday work.

Wages start at $14 per hour and vary with experience; final determination is made by the hiring manager at interview. Responsibilities include reviewing menus, ensuring correct diet trays, coordinating with the Director of Food Services and Dietitian, and maintaining dietary procedures in line with policy.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct.
• Completing necessary forms and reports and submitting to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors and implementing recommended changes.
• Ensuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with policies.
• Assisting in establishing food service production line to ensure meals are prepared on time.
• Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Dishwashing/cleaning procedures; ensuring utensils are ready for next meal.
• Assisting in inventorying and storing incoming food, supplies, and other duties as requested.
• Cooks are supervised by the Dietary Manager.

Dietary Cook

Dining is an important part of life and at Vancrest, we strive to provide the highest possible quality dining experience while ensuring the most nutritional diet possible for each resident.

Cook Responsibilities include:

• Reviewing menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspecting special diet trays to assure they are correct.
• Performing administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submitting to the Director of Food Services.
• Coordinating dietary service with other departments as necessary.
• Working with the facility's Dietician, Dietetic Technician and other Supervisors as necessary and implementing recommended changes as required.
• Assuring that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Assisting in establishing food service production line, etc., to assure that meals are prepared on time.
• Processing diet changes and new diets as received from Nursing Services and approved by the Director of Food Service.
• Performing dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assuring that utensils, etc., are readily available for next meal.
• Assisting in inventorying and storing in-coming food, supplies, and other duties as requested
