Job summary

Masonic Homes Kentucky in Louisville is seeking a Dining Services Cook to feed residents at Sam Swope Care Center. You’ll prepare fresh meals, follow recipes, and support daily kitchen operations in a fast-paced setting that values warmth and hospitality.

This full-time role requires 1+ year cooking experience, attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Weekend shifts rotate, and benefits include same day pay and uniforms.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience as a cook or in a similar food service role.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills for portioning and recipe adjustments.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 25 lbs frequently.
• Must be able to work a rotating weekend schedule.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Successful completion of prescreening hiring requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and cook meals according to menu standards and dietary requirements.
• Follow established recipes, portion guidelines, quality expectations, and presentation standards.
• Support meal service by coordinating with dietary staff and ensuring timely, accurate plating.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen and work area.
• Follow all sanitation, safety, and food-handling procedures.
• Monitor inventory and communicate supply needs to leadership.
• Assist with dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and closing duties as needed.
• Contribute to a positive, resident-focused dining experience every shift.
