Job summary

Mountain Top Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable Dietary Cook to join our Nutrition Services team. The role involves preparing meals per approved menus, ensuring proper nutrition and safety standards, and working under the Director of Food Service.

We value teamwork, patient-centered care, and timely, quality meal service. Applicants should have a high school diploma; ServeSafe is preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in long-term care/healthcare cooking preferred.
ServeSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and therapeutic diets.
Strong verbal and written communication in English.

Responsibilities

Prepare meals per approved cycle menus and recipes.
Ensure meals are palatable, visually appealing, and served at proper temperatures.
Review menus, production sheets, and dietary extensions daily.
Portion food accurately and use proper utensils and serving equipment.
Record and monitor food and equipment temperatures per HACCP guidelines.
Prepare and distribute resident snacks as assigned.
Assist with inventory and maintaining food and supply levels.
Label, date, and store food properly.
Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen using 'clean as you go' practices.
Complete daily, weekly, and special cleaning tasks.
Report equipment issues and safety hazards immediately.
