Job Purpose

Prepare food according to resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary regulations under the supervision of the Dietary Manager.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and cook resident meals according to menu and number of servings.
• Cook foods using proper methods and temperatures to ensure quality and yield.
• Maintain sanitation of work areas and equipment.
• Ensure meals are appealing, taste good, and served on time.
• Serve food according to dietary guidelines and check trays for accuracy.
• Monitor portion control to prevent waste.
• Prepare foods for special occasions and facility personnel as directed.
• Inspect special diet trays for accuracy.
• Participate in in-service education programs.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
• Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment, and abuse.

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience in preparing large quantities of food.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Good communication skills, self-discipline, patience.
• Caring attitude towards elderly and disabled residents.
• Adherence to Residents' Rights and facility policies.
• Physical ability to perform job duties as outlined.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced environment with potential interruptions.
• May require work beyond normal hours, including weekends and emergencies.
• Exposure to infectious waste, diseases, and hazardous chemicals.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

• Assist in evacuations during emergencies.
