Job summary

Willow Springs Healthcare Center is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our dietary team and help create nutritious, comforting meals for residents. You will prepare meals, follow dietary guidelines, and collaborate with the dietary and interdisciplinary team in a hospital-like setting. This role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and compassionate service, with on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in healthcare or large-volume cooking preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and food safety.
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
• Prepare large-batch meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Prepare and plate meals that are nutritious and visually appealing.
• Accurately follow special diet requirements and physician orders.
• Record food temperatures and comply with all food safety standards.
• Prepare pureed foods that are smooth, flavorful, and nutritious.
• Collaborate with dietary and interdisciplinary team members.
• Maintain and monitor sanitizer buckets and cleaning supplies.
• Assist with meal service as needed.
• Clean and organize cooking areas, carts, and equipment.
• Report any resident concerns to leadership promptly.
• Assist with onboarding and training new dietary team members.
• Follow daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules.
• Step into leadership or support roles as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
