Job summary

Sumter Health & Rehabilitation in York, Alabama, is seeking a dependable Part-Time Dietary Cook to join our team. You will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals and help create a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
• Healthcare, skilled nursing, long-term care, restaurant, institutional, or commercial kitchen experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation and food safety practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, diet instructions, and portion guidelines.
• Strong attention to detail and organization.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to providing excellent service to residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and portion guidelines.
• Prepare meals for residents with regular, modified, and therapeutic diets.
• Follow resident diet orders, food allergies, and dietary restrictions accurately.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served at appropriate temperatures.
• Assist with meal preparation, plating, and food service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation area.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, infection prevention, and proper food-handling procedures.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Assist with cleaning dishes, equipment, and work areas as needed.
• Work collaboratively with dietary, nursing, and other departments to meet resident needs.

Sumter Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a dependable and experienced Part-Time Dietary Cook to join our team. Our Dietary Cooks play an important role in resident care by preparing nutritious, appetizing meals while helping create a positive dining experience for those we serve.
