Job summary

Lakeside Health & Rehab in Richmond, VA is seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our Dietary team. This role may also include some dietary aide duties, supporting meal service and kitchen operations as needed.

Schedule includes every other weekend plus one weekday; hours may vary. Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary guidelines, ensuring on-time service, proper temperatures, and appealing presentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a cook in healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant settings preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures required.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently when needed.
• Willingness to assist with dietary aide duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines

• Follow portion control standards and safe food-handling practices
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas in compliance with health and safety standards
• Assist with food preparation, tray assembly, meal service, and cleanup as needed
• Support inventory management, food storage, and supply rotation
• Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and team to meet resident needs and preferences
