Job summary

Lakeside Health & Rehab in Richmond, VA is seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our Dietary team. You will prepare meals according to menus and dietary guidelines, and may assist with dietary aide duties as needed. This role requires reading recipes, following safety standards, and collaborating with the Dietary Manager to meet resident needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience as a cook in healthcare, hospitality, or restaurant settings preferred.
• Able to read and follow recipes and dietary instructions.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently when needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure meals are served on time, at proper temperatures, and with appropriate presentation.
• Follow portion control standards and safe food-handling practices.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Assist with food preparation, tray assembly, meal service, and cleanup as needed.
• Support inventory management, food storage, and supply rotation.
• Work collaboratively with the Dietary Manager and team to meet resident needs and preferences.
