Job summary

Deer Park Health and Rehab is hiring Dietary Cooks for full-time and part-time roles. The shift is 12pm-8pm, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend. Benefits include 401(k), dental, disability, health, vision insurance, paid time off.

Responsibilities include preparing meals per menus and dietary needs, serving palatable meals, maintaining sanitation, and complying with health code requirements. Minimum 18 years old with a GED or high school diploma is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks per the posted menu and dietary needs.

• Keeps work area clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Adheres to health code for food storage and proper temperatures.
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet portions.
• Maintains a safe and respectful work environment.
• Attends continuing education programs.

Dietary Cook Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares meals, desserts and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule; makes sure that all special diets and dietary concerns are followed
• Serves meals that are palatable and presentable
• Responsible for keeping work area clean, organized, sanitized, may include washing pots and pans, etc
• Knows health code requirements for food and beverage storage and hot/cold holding temperatures and maintains documentation
• Estimates and prepares food supplies to meet serving portions
• Maintains a safe, clean and respectable work environment
• Attends and participates in continuing educational programs

Dietary Cook Qualifications:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be compassionate towards the senior population
• Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures

The shift for this position is 12pm-8pm, M-F including every other weekend.
