Job summary

Lebanon Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is seeking a Dietary Cook to join our kitchen team. You will prepare meals in accordance with federal, state, and local standards while following our policies and procedures to ensure quality service.

The ideal candidate has the ability to follow directions, work tactfully with residents and staff, and maintain safety and cleanliness. Experience with elderly or disabled populations is a plus, and a patient, cheerful disposition is valued.

Qualifications

• Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Tactful communication with residents, families, and staff.
• Knowledge of needs of elderly, ill, or disabled residents.
• Patience, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm to handle difficult residents.
• Ability to follow written and oral directions.

We are looking for a talented and hard-working Cook to join our ever-growing team.

JOB DUTIES:

To prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulation, with our established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the Food Services Director or designee, to assure quality food service is provided at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such action.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, resident, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Knowledge of elderly, ill and/or disabled.
• Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
• Basic understanding of following step by step procedures.
• Follows and understands written and oral directions.
• Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.
