Job summary

Envive Healthcare of Beech Grove is seeking a skilled Dietary Cook to join our team. This position supports residents by preparing nutritious meals and presenting appetizing dishes in alignment with posted menus and dietary needs. Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available.

You will maintain a clean, safe work environment, follow health codes, and help manage supplies and portions. We value reliability and teamwork and welcome individuals passionate about geriatrics and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, desserts, and snacks according to the posted menu, following dietary concerns.
• Serve meals that are palatable and presentable.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, including washing pots and pans, and sanitizing work areas.
• Knowledgeable of health code requirements for food storage and hot/cold holding temperatures, and maintain documentation.
• Estimate and prepare food supplies to meet serving portions.
• Participate in continuing educational programs to stay up-to-date on culinary techniques and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals, desserts, and snacks in accordance with the posted menu schedule, ensuring that all special diets and dietary concerns are followed

• Serve meals that are palatable and presentable

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment, including washing pots and pans, and sanitizing work areas

• Knowledgeable of health code requirements for food and beverage storage and hot/cold holding temperatures, and maintain documentation

• Estimate and prepare food supplies to meet serving portions

• Participate in continuing educational programs to stay up-to-date on the latest culinary techniques and procedures

Qualifications and Skills

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Must be at least 18 years of age

• Must be interested in geriatrics, and able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

• Knowledgeable of dietary techniques and procedures

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and/or 50 pounds occasionally
