Responsibilities and Duties

• Follow computer and printer procedures for diet order communications to ensure diets are ordered correctly.
• Receive incoming telephone calls, identify department and message details, and communicate relevant information to the Clinical Dietitian.
• Keep CBORD card file updated with current patient diet orders.
• Organize patient menus in correct order before meal service times for designated care areas.
• Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
• Check modified diet menus under supervision and charge for patient tube feedings as per procedures.
• Assist with staff training for the Dietary Clerk position as needed.
• Follow safety rules consistently and practice good personal hygiene.
• Communicate effectively with nursing and Nutrition Services staff.
• Complete required in-services on schedule.
• Fill in as Hospitality Associate as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Ability to perform mathematical computations and record keeping.
• On-the-job training provided.
• Legible handwriting skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Good communication skills.
