Job summary

Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY, is seeking a Dietary Clerk to join our Food Nutrition team. You will answer phones, process patient diet status changes, and help patients select menu options.

The role supports daily operations, maintains sanitation standards in the diet office, and coordinates with nursing stations to relay diet orders. Pay range $17.00 - $22.10 per hour.

• Is in charge of replenishing diet cards and diet instruction materials and re-ordering as necessary.

Summary

Responsible for answering telephone in the diet office and processing all changes in patient diet status. May assist patient with computerized menu selections.

• Performs office duties as per daily operational sequences outlined in the job routines.
• May help patients in making appropriate menu selections.
• Is responsible for maintaining high standards of departmental sanitation particularly in regard to sanitation in the diet office area.
• Communicates orders for patient service between nursing stations and Dietary Department.
• Is in charge of replenishing diet cards and diet instruction materials and re-ordering as necessary.
• In charge of putting instruction material together and in order.
