Job summary

Arnot Health, including Arnot Ogden Medical Center, is seeking a Dining Assistant in the Food and Nutrition department to support meal delivery and patient nourishment. Per Diem schedule with a Monday–Sunday rotation, performing tray assembly, meal ordering on tablets, and collaboration with nursing to meet dietary needs.

The role emphasizes patient service, sanitary food handling, and efficient transport of dishes and carts throughout units, under HACCP-compliant guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with patient meal delivery and dietary needs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Gathers all tray delivery information to be prepared for tray delivery.
• Takes patient meal orders using tablets.
• Communicates with the nursing unit regarding Patient diets and special needs.
• Assists Patients with any concerns about the tray or meal service.
• Cleans counters, steam tables, cold tables, dining room tables and chairs, ovens, ranges, hoods and sinks.
• Transports soiled dishes for Doctor's Dining Room to conveyor.
• Assembles Patient trays, loads carts and delivers carts to units.
• Delivers and returns carts and soiled tray carts to and from patient areas and special meeting areas.

Education

Responsible for delivering Patient trays on the units and providing good customer service to the Patients. May assist patients with computerized menu selection. General Kitchen duties such as dish room, cafeteria, catering, and tray line could be required. Supply patient care areas with appropriate nourishments. Monitors, maintains and records food temperatures per policy and regulatory agencies following the HACCP guidelines for food safety on patient unit pantries.
