Job summary

PACE Southeast Michigan is seeking a Dietary Associate to support the dietary department with meal preparation, service, and sanitation under the guidance of the Registered Dietitian and Center Manager.

This role requires a High School diploma or GED, ServSafe certification, CPR, and experience in long-term care or hospital food service; candidates must read English and lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification with ANSI required.
• Current CPR card required.
• Long term care or hospital food service experience.
• Knowledge of basic computer skills (MS Outlook and MS Word) required.
• One year of experience with a frail or elderly population desired.
• Ability to establish/interdepartmental relationships and problem-solve.
• Medically cleared for communicable diseases and up-to-date immunizations.
• CMS competency standard knowledge before independent work.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and read/speak English.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of food and serves meals, snacks, beverages and nutrition supplements with proper portion control.
• Prepares meals according to diet orders and ensures timely service to participants.
• Washes, sanitizes and stores dishes and adaptive feeding equipment.
• Receives and stores food and supplies; labels stored items correctly.
• Maintains equipment and reports malfunctions to the Registered Dietitian.
• Follows safety, infection control and hazardous chemical policies and cleans as scheduled.
• Takes daily attendance and prepares tray tickets; participates in training and staff meetings.
