Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Dietetic Assistant to support patient and customer food service operations, including tray assembly, preparation, and sanitation. You will work as part of a team to deliver high-quality food and service.

Position requires following menus, portion control, and FIFO practices, while maintaining clean work areas and accurate temperature records. A fast-paced kitchen environment and strong teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• PIC training provided through the County Health Department.
• Food safety certifications from StateFoodSafety.com, ServSafe, and local health department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas per task assignment and maintain sanitizer levels throughout shift.
• Set up area, restock, clean and organize assigned area.
• Produce attractive, quality food and beverages.
• Follow menu cycle and recipes; use FIFO for leftovers.
• Greet customers and take orders; deliver courteous service.
• Address complaints politely; escalate to management when needed.
• Clean spills promptly and manage trash; post caution signage.
• Merchandize area with clean, organized layout.
• Ensure sanitation, safety and quality guidelines are followed.
• Document temperatures and report equipment issues.
• Operate, clean and store equipment properly.
• Store and label food items and chemicals.
