Job summary

Oak Knoll Rehab & Healthcare Center is seeking a dependable Dietary Assistant to support our dietary team in preparing and serving meals in a safe, sanitary environment. You will follow menus, assist with therapeutic diets, and help ensure timely meal delivery to residents.

Prior healthcare food service experience and ability to read and follow instructions in English are preferred. This part-time role offers a supportive team, competitive hourly wage, and opportunities to grow with the facility.

Qualifications

• Prior food service experience preferred (especially in healthcare).
• Able to read, write, and follow oral/written instructions in English.
• Familiarity with dietary restrictions and therapeutic diets is a plus.
• Able to stand, bend, and lift during shifts.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Work with the Food Service Manager and Dietitian to follow menus and production schedules
• Prepare, portion, and serve meals according to therapeutic diets and resident preferences
• Set up trays/place settings based on individual dietary needs
• Prepare snacks, beverages, and nourishments
• Assist in stocking, storing food, and organizing supplies
• Clean kitchen areas, dishes, utensils, and equipment per sanitation guidelines
• Follow all food safety and infection control protocols
• Maintain a neat and orderly work environment
• Support vending par level preparation (snacks, entrees, etc.)
• Assist during mealtimes and help ensure timely delivery of food
• Attend departmental meetings and perform other related duties as assigned
