Job summary

Cypress Pointe Health & Wellness is seeking Dietary Aides/Tray Aides/Kitchen Staff for a full-time role in our health center. Responsibilities include meal preparation, serving, tray setup, and ensuring diet orders are correct.

Qualifications

• Must understand and follow instructions in English.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements.
• Ability to interpret diet orders and set up trays accordingly.
• Ability to cooperate closely with residents, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required (as applicable).
• Serves meals in the health center pantries.
• Sets up tables in dining areas and cleans up after meals.
• Transports hot/cold foods to/from pantries and carries non-food items.
• Washes dishes and maintains cleanliness of pantries.
• Provides snacks and supplements per diet orders.
• Maintains stock and sanitation in coffee/juice machines.
• Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order.
• Takes orders, delivers items, and provides courteous service.
• Clears dishes during/after meals and answers menu questions.
• Ensures orders match physicians' diet orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepares therapeutic desserts and salads as required
• Serves meals in the health center pantries
• Sets up tables in the health center dining room(s) and breaks them down after the meals
• Transports hot and cold foods to and from the health center pantries
• Transports all required non-food items to and from the health center pantries
• Washes silver, glass, china in dish machines in pantries as per regulation
• Provides health center snacks and supplements per diet orders
• Maintains stock and sanitation levels in coffee and juice machines in dining rooms
• Sets tables and maintains work stations in proper order
• Takes order, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously
• Clears dishes from tables during and after meal service
• Answers pertinent questions about menu items
• Ensures that orders match Physician's diet orders

Qualifications

• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, perform simple arithmetic, and understand measurements and conversions
• Previous experience in nursing home food service preferred, but not required
• Ability to plan, organize and set up trays and plates in accordance with diet orders and interpret specifications and standards
• Ability to work in close cooperation with residents, guests, visitors, families, supervisor and peers. Requires empathy for the elderly
