Job summary

Avalon Care Center Federal Way is seeking a dependable Dietary Aide to join our team on a PRN schedule in the Federal Way, WA area. The role includes dishwashing, food prep, serving, and maintaining sanitary kitchen and dining areas, with temperature controls and portion accuracy emphasized.

Qualifications include a Food Handler’s permit/ServeSafe and fluent English, plus the ability to read/write and work cooperatively with staff. Competitive benefits are available to PRN staff where applicable.

Qualifications

• Food handler permit or ServeSafe certification required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Ability to relate positively to residents and work cooperatively with staff.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background check and reference inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes.
• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary kitchen/dining areas.
• Check that dishware and hot base lowerator are heated properly.
• Ensure accurate serving portions before loading trays.
• Ensure serving utensils are correct and temperatures logged.
• During tray line, garnish and arrange trays neatly with silverware, cups, and dishware.
• Record any excess/shortage after tray-line and discuss with supervisor.
