Job summary

Las Cruces Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a PRN Food Service Aide to assist with meal preparation, serving, and dining room duties for patients and staff. You will follow center procedures for nourishments, desserts, salads, and beverages, while maintaining tray accuracy and cleanliness during shifts.

The role involves assisting cooks, reading tray tickets, and communicating with patients during meals to ensure smooth service in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets
• Sets dining room tables for meals when assigned
• Works on meal tray serving line and sets up before service
• Reads and follows tray tickets when serving meals
• Serves meal trays to patients and pours beverages
• Clears tables of dishes and trash
• Pushes food carts to patient care areas
• Communicates with patients during meal times when serving in dining areas

Your Job Summary

Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.

Food Preparation/Production Responsibilities

Assists cook as directed by the food service director

Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures

Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entre foods into dishes; pours beverages

Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate

Meal Service Responsibilities

Sets dining room tables for meals when assigned

Works on meal tray serving line. Sets-up before start of meal service. Breaks down area and cleans-up at end of serving line

Reads and follows tray tickets when serving meals.

Serves meal trays to patient and pours beverages for patients when assigned to dining room

Clears tables of dishes and trash

Pushes food carts to appropriate patient care areas

Communicates with patients during meal times when serving in dining areas
