Job summary

Las Cruces Wellness & Rehabilitation is seeking a PRN Food Service Worker to support meal prep, service, and cleanup for patients and staff.

You will assist cooks, label nourishments, portion desserts and beverages, and read tray tickets. You will serve trays, clear tables, and help maintain a clean dining area while engaging with patients in a friendly manner.

Qualifications

• Experience in food service or hospital dietary is preferred.
• Ability to follow written guidelines and production sheets.
• Good communication with patients and team.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director.
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures.
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entre foods into dishes; pours beverages.
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate.
• Sets dining room tables for meals when assigned.
• Works on meal tray serving line; sets up before start of meal service; cleans up after serving line.
• Reads and follows tray tickets when serving meals.
• Serves meal trays to patients and pours beverages.
• Clears tables and trash.
• Pushes food carts to patient care areas.
• Communicates with patients during meals in dining areas.

Your Job Summary

Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.

Food Preparation/Production Responsibilities

Assists cook as directed by the food service director

Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures

Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entre foods into dishes; pours beverages

Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate

Meal Service Responsibilities

Sets dining room tables for meals when assigned

Works on meal tray serving line. Sets-up before start of meal service. Breaks down area and cleans-up at end of serving line

Reads and follows tray tickets when serving meals.

Serves meal trays to patient and pours beverages for patients when assigned to dining room

Clears tables of dishes and trash

Pushes food carts to appropriate patient care areas

Communicates with patients during meal times when serving in dining areas
