Job summary

Los Alamos Wellness and Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time food service worker to support meals for patients and staff in the nursing center and at events. You will assist the cook, prepare nourishments, desserts and salads, and follow production sheets.

You will set dining tables, work on the meal tray line, read tray tickets, serve trays and beverages, clear tables, and move carts to patient areas while engaging with patients.

Responsibilities

• Assists cook as directed by the food service director
• Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures
• Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entrée foods into dishes; pours beverages
• Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate
• Sets dining room tables for meals when assigned
• Works on meal tray serving line; sets up before start of meal service; cleans up after serving
• Reads and follows tray tickets when serving meals
• Serves meal trays to patients and pours beverages for patients when assigned to dining room
• Clears tables of dishes and trash
• Pushes food carts to appropriate patient care areas
• Communicates with patients during meal times while serving in dining areas

Your Job Summary

Performs a variety of tasks usually not requiring cooking skills in the preparation, service, and clean up for meals served to patients and staff in the nursing center and other special events.

Food Preparation/Production Responsibilities

Assists cook as directed by the food service director

Prepares and labels nourishments according to center procedures

Prepares and portions desserts, salads and other non-entre foods into dishes; pours beverages

Follows production sheets and pre-preparation sheets or guidelines when appropriate

Meal Service Responsibilities

Sets dining room tables for meals when assigned

Works on meal tray serving line. Sets-up before start of meal service. Breaks down area and cleans-up at end of serving line

Reads and follows tray tickets when serving meals.

Serves meal trays to patient and pours beverages for patients when assigned to dining room

Clears tables of dishes and trash

Pushes food carts to appropriate patient care areas

Communicates with patients during meal times when serving in dining areas
