Job summary

Legacy Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation, tray assembly, and service across the facility. You will help maintain a clean, safe dietary environment and support patients and staff with courteous, person-centered care.

Work involves rotating shifts in a 24/7 facility, basic sanitation duties, and participation in compliance and QAPI initiatives. A high school diploma and one year of dietary aide experience are preferred, along with food sanitation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience as a Dietary Aide.
• Food Sanitation Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of meals and beverages.
• Participate in the food tray line and prepare trays according to diet cards to meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Assist with loading food carts and serving meals to Guests and staff.
• Bag and store food items as directed.
• Clean and wrap silverware, inspecting each piece to make sure it is clean before wrapping.
• Bus and clean tables after meal times throughout the facility.
• Scrape, wash, and rack unclean dishes and utensils.
• Assist in the operation of the dishwashing machine.
• Sort and stack clean dishes and inspect for cleanliness.
• Place clean dishes, utensils, and cutlery in their proper storage place.
• Participate in table setup including tablecloth, silverware, dishware and filling cups with water.
• Discard waste/trash into proper containers per sanitation procedures.
• Ensure work area is clean and free of hazards.
• Report equipment malfunctions and supply needs to supervisor.
• Communicate with Guests, visitors, families, peers and supervisors effectively.
• Attend and participate in meetings and in-services as directed.
• Support QAPI efforts and participate in related trainings.

Education
