Position Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal service, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.

You will assist the cook in meal preparation and service, ensuring residents receive high-quality service by following scheduled meal times and established policies and procedures within the dietary department.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist the cook/supervisor with food preparation and service, following specific procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
• Deliver residents’ meal carts, set up, and clean dining areas to serve residents.
• Record refrigerator temperatures accurately; clean and restock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes, maintaining sanitation and kitchen cleanliness.
• Stay informed of Federal, State, and local rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Preferred: 1 year of food service experience.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Ability to communicate clearly with all community levels.
• Desire and commitment to work with geriatric residents, understanding their specific needs.
• Ability to follow directions and complete assignments.
• Teamwork skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• ServSafe certification is desirable.
