Job description

Columbus Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for Part Time Dietary Aides to join our team.

PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENT:

The position of Culinary Aide exists to provide routine support in the Culinary Department. This position must work effectively with team members to ensure that work is accomplished in a timely, effective, and safe manner. The role also involves managing available resources efficiently.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Serve food from tray line or steam table according to diet and preferences.
2. Set up trays or plates for food service.
3. Ensure menu accuracy for each resident’s meal.
4. Ensure meals are complete and presentable.
5. Transport carts to nursing stations in a timely manner.
6. Collect and return dishes after meal completion.
7. Monitor residents’ personal effects and report to supervisor for return.
8. Ensure sanitization of plateware, silverware, glassware, and utensils according to procedures.
9. Complete cleaning tasks as assigned.
10. Clean pots, pans, and utensils.
11. Remove trash, sweep, and mop floors.
12. Break down and clean steam tables after tray line service or set up prior to service.
13. Assist in salad, dessert, snack, and nourishment preparation and delivery.
14. Clean resident dining areas.
15. Deliver late meals or menu alterations to nursing stations.
16. Assist nursing staff in meal delivery.
17. Support cooks and preparatory cooks in other areas as needed.
18. Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment, ensuring high-quality culinary care.
19. Meet residents’ food service needs promptly, accurately, and compassionately.
20. Adhere to departmental, center, and corporate policies, quality improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
21. Attend scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to maintain and improve quality of care.
22. Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
2. Must be ServSafe certified.
