Job summary

English Mountain Recovery in Sevierville, Tennessee is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal preparation, kitchen sanitation, and patient/staff nourishment. The position requires adherence to dietary guidelines, safety procedures, and standardized portions while maintaining appealing and nutritious meals.

The role involves coordinating with the Dietician or supervisor, planning cooking schedules, and ensuring proper storage, labeling, and inventory.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Two or more years’ experience in food service for institutions preferred.
• Experience with menus, dietary guidelines and portioning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans and prepares foods per policies and recipes provided by supervisor or Dietician.
• Plans cooking schedule so regular and therapeutic menus are ready on time.
• Follows recipes and portioning procedures for meats, entrees, vegetables, soups and desserts.
• Maintains accurate temperature logs and proper storage; labels and discsards food as needed.
• Sets up steam tables, labels modifications, and ensures attractive, served portions.
• Directs staff assisting in meal prep and serving; handles daily meal counts and safety checks.
• Keeps kitchen clean, maintains hygiene, and transports trash to dumpster.
• Applies culinary techniques for special dietary requirements.
