Job summary

The Villas At Saratoga is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist the Cook with meal preparation and service in a skilled care environment. You will read tray cards, prepare hot and cold foods, serve meals, and ensure accuracy of diets, textures, and allergies while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities include assisting with social dining, nourishing residents, and adhering to infection control and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in working in kitchen of communities or institutions that provide meals to large groups is preferred.
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common information, and be easily understood through verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Set-up trays with proper dishes, glasses, cups and eating utensils for meals to be served.
• Prepare hot and cold foods and beverages for residents’ meals as assigned by the Cook or Dietary Services Supervisor.
• Serve food for meal delivery by reading tray cards and checking allergies, likes/dislikes, and special instructions.
• Place items on trays, ensure correct beverages, food type and texture, and accurate portions.
• Add condiments and special requests, recheck trays against tray cards to ensure correct diets.
• Assist with social dining/meal service and prep nourishments.
• Clean utensils and prep areas; follow posted cleaning schedule and infection control policies.
