Job summary

Ojai Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a Dietary Aide General Purpose to support meal preparation and service in our facility. You will learn the routine, set up trays, assist with serving, and help keep the kitchen clean and sanitary.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to food safety, and the ability to follow recipes and procedures. Starting pay is $18 per hour, with equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.; be able to read and follow recipes.; able to interpret technical procedures and follow instructions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routines quickly.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine.
• Observe dishwasher water temperatures during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away safely.
• Leave kitchen clean and sanitary and assist the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel from all departments.
