Job summary

Pearl of Elk Grove is seeking a Dietary Aide to perform routine dietary tasks and assist with meal preparation in a long-term care setting. The role ensures meals are prepared and served on schedule and supports the dietary team with daily operations.

The position requires a High School diploma and the ability to follow recipes, maintain sanitation, and adhere to HIPAA and safety policies while providing courteous service to residents and staff; lifting up to 50 lbs is required and flexibility

Qualifications

• High School graduate with preferred institutional dietary service experience.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions and diet orders.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks with frequent interruptions.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
• Provide assistance to the cook in preparation and service of meals.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Setting up the dining room and serving the residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
• Follow reporting procedures for supplies and equipment needs.
• Report damaged fixtures or unsafe equipment and conditions.
• Assist in receiving and storing food supplies.
• Understand facility’s fire and disaster plans; participate in drills.
• Report grievances and complaints to the Dietary Manager.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Dietary Manager.
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and safe work environment.
