Job summary

Pearl of Rolling Meadows is seeking a Dietary Aide to perform routine tasks in the Dietary Department under the Dietary Manager. You will assist in meal prep, service, and tray setup, ensuring timely meals and adherence to policies. Strong reading and numerical skills support accurate recipes and sanitation.

The role requires a high school diploma, flexibility for emergencies, and a patient demeanor with residents and staff. COVID-19 vaccine is required.

Qualifications

• High School graduate and previous institutional dietary service experience is preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Numerical accountability for recipe preparation and measuring of cleaning agents; good motor coordination and manual dexterity required.
• Able to work flexible hours, including emergencies; patient and tolerant toward staff, residents, and family members.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned.
• Assist cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Dept. policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Set up dining room and serve residents; wash and store dishes.
• Report needs for supplies/equipment and any safety concerns.
