Job summary

Reo Vista Healthcare Center in San Diego, CA is seeking a Dietary Aide to support meal service and kitchen operations. You will learn the food service routine quickly, set up meal trays, and assist with serving meals under the supervision of the cook and dietary supervisor.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to read procedures and follow recipes. A food handler certificate must be obtained.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must obtain and maintain a food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Learn the food service routine within a short period.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate the dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner; assist cook or dietary supervisor as needed.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Ability to work in cooperation with personnel in all departments.
