Job summary

Bella Terra is seeking a Dietary Aide to perform designated work and cleaning routines in the Dietary Department, reporting to the Dietary Manager. In the absence of the Dietary Manager, the Aide reports to the Cook.

Responsibilities include assisting the cook, meeting meal times, following policies, preparing food items, serving trays, cleaning, lifting up to 50 lbs, and maintaining a safe, sanitary environment while treating residents with dignity.

Qualifications

• High School graduate preferred; institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks with interruptions.
• Numerical accountability for recipe preparation and measurement; good motor coordination and dexterity.
• Able to work flexible hours and maintain patient and tolerant attitude.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned.
• Assist the cook in meal preparation and service.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow federal/state long-term care regulations and Dietary Department policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Set up dining room and serve residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Report damaged fixtures or unsafe equipment and assist with inventory needs.
• Follow infection control and HIPAA compliance policies.
• Treat all residents with dignity, kindness and respect.
