Job summary

Nexus of Geneva is seeking a Dietary Aide to perform routine dietary tasks, assist the cook, and support meal service while upholding safety and sanitation standards in the Dietary Department.

The role requires reading and following recipe directions and diet orders, flexibility for interruptions, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. You will treat residents and staff with kindness, dignity and respect, and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipes, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with interruptions.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and use dietary equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
• Assist the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department Policy and Procedures.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Set up the dining room and serve the residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Report damaged or unsafe equipment and follow reporting procedures.
