Job summary

Nexus of Forest Edge is seeking a Diet Aide to support the Dietary Department in meal prep, service, and sanitation. You will assist the cook, follow diet orders and recipe directions, and help meet meal and snack times with residents.

We require a High School diploma, the ability to read instructions, and flexibility for emergency shifts. You must adhere to infection control, HIPAA, and safety policies while delivering respectful resident care daily.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions and diet orders
• Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks with interruptions
• Numerical accountability for recipe measurements and cleaning agents; good manual dexterity

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils and equipment
• Assist cook in meal preparation and service
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times
• Follow Federal and State long-term care regulations and Dietary Department policies
• Follow cleaning schedules and sanitation procedures
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals
• Set up dining room and assist residents
• Wash and store dishes
• Report damaged fixtures or unsafe equipment and assist in inventory
• Understand and follow fire and disaster plans
