Job summary

The Beverly Hills Rehabilitation Centre is seeking a dietary aide to support daily kitchen operations, meal service, and sanitation. Responsibilities include learning routines quickly, dishwashing, assisting with meals, and maintaining a clean work environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to read procedures and follow recipes. Must obtain a food handlers' certificate and work collaboratively with all departments.

• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and follow recipes.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees.

Responsibilities

• Learn and follow food service routine within a short period.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen in a clean and sanitary manner and assist when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Ability to work in cooperation and harmony with personnel in all departments.
