Job summary

The Abbey Rehabilitation And Nursing Center is seeking a Dietary Aide General Purpose. The role involves learning the food service routine, setting up meal trays, assisting with serving meals, and maintaining a clean kitchen environment under the supervision of the Cook and Dietary supervisor.

Pay is $15.00 per hour. Shift hours vary and may include both AM and some PM shifts. Candidate must obtain a food handlers’ certificate and have a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Language Skills: Read technical procedures, read and follow recipes, present information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Must learn food service routine within a short period.
• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving the different meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of dishwashing machine at the beginning of shift.
• Observe the water temperatures of dishwasher during dishwashing cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist when called upon by the cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
