Job summary

SIERRABASIN is seeking a dietary aide to support daily kitchen operations in Carson City, NV. You will learn the food service routine quickly, assist with serving meals, and help maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment.

You will strip down trays, run the dishwasher, monitor temperatures, and follow recipes and procedures. A high school diploma and a food handler certificate are required, with ability to read procedures and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain and maintain food handlers' certificate.
• Ability to read technical procedures and recipes.

Responsibilities

• Learn food service routine within a short period.
• Strip down returned trays and start washing dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check and record chlorine concentration and water temperature of the dishwashing machine at shift start.
• Observe water temperatures of dishwasher during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Put groceries away safely and orderly.
• Leave the kitchen clean and sanitary and assist when called upon by cook or dietary supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Work cooperatively with personnel in all departments.
