Job summary

Morningstar Living at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth, PA seeks an experienced Dietary Aide for the day shift (5:30am-2:00pm) with every other weekend requirement. The role supports resident meals, cold food production, and dining room service, working with nursing staff to meet individual diets.

Qualifications

• Must interact well with elderly residents and staff.
• Basic knowledge of food quality and nutrition.
• One year previous experience with food preparation and food service preferred.
• Willingness to perform repetitive tasks with a cooperative attitude.
• Demonstrates good communication with staff and management.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and produce necessary food items.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in serving breakfast trays for Health Care.
• Use daily food production logs and recipes to produce menu items in correct portions.
• Prepare salads, desserts and fruit for Health Care and Galilee dinners.
• Serve residents in cooperation with nursing staff and according to resident preferences and diet order.
• Maintain knowledge of menu and daily specials.
• Knowledge of modified dietary needs.

Dietary Aidesperform a variety of duties including cold food production for resident meals, nourishment's, and assist in the Health and Wellness dining room. Dietary Aides are responsible for but not limited to: Cleaning equipment, utensils, etc. and his/her work area.

What will I do as a Dietary Aide?

What do I need to be a Dietary Aide?

• Demonstrates good communication skills with staff and management.


• Must have the ability to follow and produce necessary food items in accordance of the use of a standardized recipe.


• Must possess basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.


• Basic computer skills.
