Position Summary

The Dietary Aide is responsible for setting up the dining area and trays for meal services, adhering to food safety guidelines, and following dietary restrictions based on residents' needs.

Assists the cook in the preparation and service of meals, ensuring scheduled meal times are met following established policies and procedures within the dietary department to provide residents with high-quality service.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist cook/supervisor with food preparation and service, following specific procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
• Deliver residents’ meal carts, set up, and clean assigned dining areas.
• Accurately record refrigerator temperatures; clean and restock as needed.
• Wash and store dishes, maintaining sanitation and kitchen upkeep.
• Follow Federal, State, and community rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Preferred 1 year of food service experience.
• Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Effective communication skills across all community levels.
• Desire and commitment to work with geriatric residents, understanding their unique needs.
• Ability to follow directions and complete assignments.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks.
• ServSafe certification is desirable.

Education Requirement

High school diploma or GED.

Physical Demands

Hourly Wage: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour.
