Job summary

Noland Health Services in Pell City, AL, is seeking a dietary aide to assist in preparing and serving meals for residents and guests, while following guidelines and policies to ensure quality food service.

You will help clean and set up dining areas, monitor food temperatures, assist with special event food preparation, and support inventory and disposal procedures, with high attention to safety and organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in a food service setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in serving meals on a timely basis.
• Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning, including carrying out garbage and keeping work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
• Cleans and sets up trays, food carts, the dining room, etc. as instructed.
• Maintains proper temperature of food during preparation and service.
• Assists in checking therapeutic diet trays before distribution.
• Delivers food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.
• Performs dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assure that utensils and dishware are readily available for the next meal.
• Prepares food and supplies meals.
• Prepares and delivers snacks as instructed.
• Assists in inventory and storing of dietary supplies and maintain food storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
• Assists in food preparation for special events.
• Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
• Makes only authorized food substitutions.
• Performs other duties as directed and assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
