Noland Health Services in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Dietary Assistant to provide assistance in dietary preparation and cleanup for residents and guests, following guidelines and policies to promote quality food service.
Responsibilities include assisting in serving meals, cleaning, maintaining food temperatures, checking diet trays, delivering carts, dishwashing, food substitutions, inventory, and supporting special events.
Provide assistance in dietary preparation and cleanup for residents and guests of the Community in accordance with applicable guidelines and regulations as well as established Organizational policies and procedures to promote quality food service.
1. Assists in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
2. Assists in daily or scheduled cleaning, including carrying out garbage and keeping work areas clean, dry, and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
3. Cleans and sets up trays, food carts, the dining room, etc. as instructed.
5. Maintains proper temperature of food during preparation and service.
6. Assists in checking therapeutic diet trays before distribution.
7. Delivers food carts, trays, etc., to designated areas.
8. Performs dishwashing/cleaning procedures. Assure that utensils and dishware are readily available for the next meal.
9. Prepares food and supplies meals.
10. Prepares and delivers snacks as instructed.
11. Assists in inventory and storing of dietary supplies and maintain food storage areas in a clean and organized manner.
12. Assists in food preparation for special events.
13. Disposes of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
14. Makes only authorized food substitutions.
15. Performs other duties as directed and assume additional responsibilities as assigned.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience in a food service setting preferred.
