Job summary

Hearthstone Senior Living is seeking a dietary aide to support daily food service operations in a resident care environment. You will learn routines quickly, set up meal trays, assist with serving, and maintain clean, sanitary kitchen areas.

The role requires reading recipes, following procedures, and safe food handling with a cert. Physical tasks include lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must be able to learn food service routine quickly.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and technical procedures.
• Strong math skills for fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions.
• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Set up meal trays.
• Strip down returned trays and wash dishes.
• Assist with serving meals.
• Check chlorine concentration and water temp of dishwashing machine at start of shift.
• Monitor dishwasher water temperature during cycles.
• Operate dishwasher.
• Prepare nourishments and snacks.
• Sweep and mop kitchen.
• Carry out trash and garbage.
• Store groceries safely and neatly.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation and assist Cook or Dietary Supervisor.
• Clean work surfaces and refrigerators.
• Sweep and mop floors.
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training of dietary staff.
• Cooperate with personnel in all departments.
