Job summary

St. Bernard Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, part of Volare Health, seeks a Dietary Aide to support meal prep, service, and hygienic dining areas. You will verify heated equipment, ensure proper portions, and maintain temperatures logged for quality control.

The role requires reading and writing in English, a patient-focused attitude, and the ability to work with team members and residents. Comprehensive benefits and flexible scheduling are offered.

Qualifications

• Food Handler's permit or ServSafe certification as required by state.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions in English.
• Ability to relate positively to residents, families, and coworkers.
• Must pass drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation, serving, and maintaining clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen and dining areas.
• Check that plate and hot base lowerator are heated, steam table is properly heated.
• Ensure accurate serving portions and food items on each tray before loading to the food cart.
• Ensure that appropriate serving utensils are used; temperatures are logged and reviewed prior to tray-line.
• During the tray line, ensure that the trays are garnished, neatly arranged, silverware, cups, and dishes are clean and plate covers are dry.
• After tray-line, check and record excess/shortage preparation, discuss with the supervisor.
