Job summary

Preferred Care At Mercer is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist the Cook in meal preparation and service. You will place prepared food on plates, follow tray tickets, and ensure quality service in line with our policies and procedures.

You will lift up to 50 pounds, work around food, maintain cleanliness, and communicate effectively with residents and staff. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, speak, and understand English; follow directions.
• Follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
• Maintain neat, clean appearance.
• Experience in facilities with quantity food production.
• General knowledge of nutrition.
• Read and apply requirements of food tray cards.
• Maintain records and complete reports as required.
• Written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of quantity food production and sanitation.
• Interact positively with residents, clients, staff and the public.

Responsibilities

• Assist Cook in meal preparation and service.
• Place prepared food on plates/trays per tray tickets and policies.
• Prepare and deliver food and trays; wash dishes; clean and sanitize kitchen.
• Be detail-oriented, well-groomed, professional, and a team player.
