Job summary

Pearl of St. Charles is seeking a Dietary Aide to support our dietary department. You will assist the cook, help with meal service and help maintain cleanliness and safety in dining areas.

Ideal candidates are high school graduates with institutional dietary experience, able to read recipes and follow diet orders and tray cards, and willing to work flexible hours in a long-term care setting.

Teamwork, accuracy and respect for residents and families are essential in daily duties.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read, understand and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks with interruptions and to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined dietary routines with utensils, supplies and equipment.
• Assist in preparation and service of meals with the cook.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times and follow regulations and policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and maintain sanitation.
• Set up dining room and serve residents; handle dishes.
