Job summary

Deerfield Village is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to prepare and serve meals, ensure dining room readiness, and provide excellent resident-centric service. You will fill food requests, transport trays, and help maintain a clean kitchen and dining area while building rapport with residents, families, and staff.

Required certifications include a Food Workers Card (and food safety). Weekend availability and reliable attendance are needed; the role offers a supportive team environment within

Job description

Dietary Aide (Dining Services Associate) with Deerfield Village, you’re responsible for creating a safe, comfortable and pleasant dining experience for our residents. In this role you’ll have the opportunity to build life-long relationships serving our residents the nutritious meals that keep them thriving every day.

What we look for in a Dietary Aide (Dining Services Associate):

  • Must possess current first aid certification and a current food handler’s or serve safe certification

  • Work with the dining room manager to identify dietary needs and develop appropriate dietary plans

  • Reliable transportation and dependable when it comes to showing up on time

  • Effective communicator who connects with staff, residents and their families

  • Demonstrate active listening techniques, gain support by treating others with dignity and respect

  • Compassionate individuals who will represent our community in a positive and professional manner

  • Strong customer service skills with ability to problem solve

  • Ownership attitude who is able to stay focused despite interruptions throughout the day

  • Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings and weekends

What you can expect to do as a Dietary Aide:

  • Prepare dining room for all meals, completing the pre-meal procedures

  • Fill resident food requests, transport food to dining room or deliver service trays to resident’s units

  • Establish effective relationships with residents, family members and staff

  • Use proper tasting techniques to understand the flavor of all entrees and have knowledge of their ingredients, prior to meal service.

  • Demonstrate organizational skills around time management

  • Ability to understand menus and answer questions that might arise

  • Ensure cleanliness in both kitchen and dining room

  • Actively participates as a member of a team and is committed to working toward goals set by management

  • Promote the mission, values and beliefs of Cascade Living

Required Certifications:

  • Food Workers Card

$16.80 - $18.80/hour
*Depending on Experience

Job Type:

  • Part Time

  • Monday - Thursday (9am-2:30pm)

  • Weekend Availability Required
