Job summary

Pearl of Hillside is seeking a Dietary Aide to support the Dietary Department with meal preparation, service and cleaning duties. You will assist the cook, set up dining areas, and ensure meals meet scheduled times while adhering to regulations.

The role requires a High School diploma and preferred institutional dietary service experience, with flexibility to work during emergencies and a strong emphasis on patient resident dignity and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School graduate; institutional dietary service experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipe directions, diet orders, tray cards and work assignments.
• Willingness to perform routine tasks with frequent interruptions.
• Good motor coordination and manual dexterity for food prep and cleaning tasks.
• Able to work flexible hours, including emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform defined work routines using dietary utensils, supplies and equipment as assigned by the Dietary Manager.
• Assist the cook in the preparation and service of meals.
• Meet scheduled meal and snack times.
• Follow Federal and State long term care regulations and Dietary Department policies.
• Follow cleaning schedules and perform cleaning duties as scheduled.
• Assist in arranging tray cards, loading food carts and serving meals.
• Set up dining room and serve residents.
• Wash and store dishes.
• Report supplies and equipment needs and any safety issues.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and report grievances from residents to the Dietary Manager.
• Assist in receiving and storing food supplies.
• Understand and follow facility fire, disaster plans and infection control policies.
