Job summary

WeCare Centers at Heritage Care Center in Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated Dietary Aide to assist in the kitchen before, during, and after meals for residents. The shift is 12pm – 8pm, supporting meal preparation, serving, and clean up in accordance with sanitary regulations.

Responsibilities include maintaining work areas, ensuring food safety, and collaborating with cooks to meet residents' preferences and dietary needs. Health benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Health compliance and competency requirements must be met.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Minimum 1 year of food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen work areas.
• Maintain equipment, utensils, and food plates clean and orderly.
• Prepares meals, snacks, and nourishments in accordance with sanitary regulations, as well as the facility standards and procedures.
• Serves meals that are palatable, appetizing in appearance, garnished and at proper temperature on a timely basis.
• Serves food from steam table and/or transport food delivery carts to the resident areas.
• Honors residents food likes, dislikes per tray ticket within prescribed diet.
• Ensures food supplies for the next day production is available.
• Assists cooks in preparing meals as directed.
• Uses proper hand-washing techniques and safety procedures.
