Holston Health & Rehab in Wytheville, VA is seeking a Dietary Aide who takes pride in serving nutritious meals and delivering friendly, attentive service to residents. You will assist with meal preparation, portion control, tray delivery, and maintaining clean dining areas.
Qualifications: high school diploma preferred; prior food service or healthcare experience is a plus, but training is available. Weekend or holiday shifts may be required.
At Holston Health & Rehab, we’re dedicated to providing compassionate care and creating a welcoming environment for our residents. We’re currently seeking a Dietary Aide who takes pride in serving nutritious, high-quality meals and delivering excellent customer service.
Assist in preparing and serving meals and snacks according to resident dietary plans and facility menus.
Ensure proper portion control and food presentation.
Set up, deliver, and collect meal trays and dining room service.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining areas, and equipment in compliance with state and facility regulations.
Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment following safe food-handling procedures.
Stock and organize food supplies and assist with inventory as needed.
Work collaboratively with dietary and nursing staff to meet residents’ nutritional needs.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in food service, healthcare, or hospitality setting preferred (but not required — we’ll train the right person!).
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Must be dependable and able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends or holidays as needed.
Knowledge of sanitation, safety, and infection control standards is a plus.
