Job summary

Apple Rehab West Haven is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to assist in meal preparation and dining area cleanup. You will help with receiving, rotating and storing supplies, and you will engage daily with residents within a warm, family-style team environment.

The role emphasizes infection control, sanitation, and accurate data handling, with a focus on delivering safe, quality care. We offer strong benefits for 30+ hour staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to walk, bend, lift, push, pull, turn, stoop and stretch.
• Ability to unload and stock groceries on shelves of various heights and to lift large items up to 50lbs.
• Ability to write and record data, to read and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in cases of emergency.
• Ability to communicate with residents, staff, family members in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of meals and snacks and clean dining areas.
• Receive, rotate and store supplies and food.
• Interact daily with residents and provide courteous service.
• Maintain infection control, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Report safety or sanitation violations to supervisor.

Job Description:

Dietary Aide

The Dietary Aide assists in preparation of meals and snacks as well as clean up of dining areas. Assists with receiving, rotating and storing of supplies and food. The Dietary Aide has daily interactions with the residents of our community. Helps to clean work areas, wash dishes, pans and utensils.

The Dietary Aide complies with infection control, safety and sanitation functions of the facility. Ensures that food storage and work areas are maintained in a clean and safe manner, and that equipment and supplies are properly maintained. The Dietary Aide handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations, and reports immediately all violations of safety or sanitation rules to supervisor.
